A great variety of exhibitor firms and technical and leisure activities will transform FMY into a soulful and social space.

Around 6,000 professional visitors have already registered for this year’ 60th edition to discover the latest trends and innovations in the housing sector

Yecla’s Furniture Fair (FMY) 60th edition, along with the latest developments of the more than 90 exhibiting firms, offers an activity programme consisting of technical and recreational sessions. The objective is to create a social atmosphere and a relaxing soulful space during the event.

Partnerships such as AREMA, the Technological Centre of Furniture and Wood (CETEM), the Open Centre for Architecture (COAC) and Yecla Wine Route will have an important place in this programme. In addition to these activities, there will be talks and colloquiums organised by the evento. Creacción Festival will also be held, which brings an artistic and reflective touch with design professionals in collaboration with the housing sector.

The 60th edition FMY’s opening day, along with a media reception by Juan Miguel Zornoza, FMY’s director, will include the visit of Murcia’s regional president, Fernando López Miras. He will be accompanied by Yecla’s mayoress and FMY’s Executive Committee president, Remedios Lajara, among other authorities at the fair’s inauguration.

Everything is “all set” and around 6,000 professional visitors have already registered. Juan Miguel Zornoza pointed out that, from next Tuesday 24th May, FMY “will become a great showcase visited by thousands of professionals, which will demonstrate, once again, that this is a growing, enterprising sector, with a young spirit and a great potential”.

Technical and leisure actitivites will transform FMY into a soulful and social space

Business activities will be the main feature of this event over the four days, in addition to a full programme of technical and leisure activities that will make our exhibition centre a soulful and living space. As part of this programme, there will be a prize for the best stand design, recognising the work that exhibitor firms do at each event to attractively showcase their new products and trends.

The Open Centre for Architecture (COAC) will highlight the professional careers of four commercial agents from the Region of Murcia and Alicante. The AREMA annual award ceremony will also be held, honouring the work carried out by the Instituto de Fomento de la Región de Murcia (INFO) this year.

The fair will also include discussions on how to deal with cyber-attack threats. This will be organised by the Sixto Palacín insurance brokerage firm. José Antonio Galdón, president of the General Council of Technical Industrial Engineering, will also take part in the event to analyse the industrial sector and sustainable development.

FMY’s commitment to art and design will be clearly reflected in the Creacción festival. A round table with local designers will discuss about design in the Covid period and its influence in the coming years. Florián Moreno, José Miguel Andrés, Manuel Marco and Ana Azorín, all local designers, will take part of this round table.

Within the same space, we will talk with Ana Segovia, from the Odosdesing studio, about trends in housing design. In addition, there will be an exhibition of artistic pieces by various artists in the leisure/business area, merging art with furniture, timber and related sectors.  All of their activities can be consulted at https://festivalcreaccion.com.

Having a short break between business meetings and customer service to get a taste of the sector’s roots in the leisure-business space will be feasible in the business-leisure space. Wine and furniture worlds are connected. Visitors could attend DO Yecla wines tastings, as well as wine tastings carried out by four of the Yecla’s Wine Route wineries, every day. The Yecla exhibition centre provides a social environment for the professional public, firms and specifiers. In this respect, a complete technical and recreational programme will be offered. CETEM, the Technological Centre for Furniture and Wood, will exhibit eHealth Home: the home of the future, as an example of advanced housing technology applied to health sector. They will also introduce studies on ‘Circular Housing Economy’. Finally, CETEM DESIGN AWARD finalists and winning prototypes will be on display.

At the same time, we can experience ‘Another way to enjoy Art (Otra manera de disfrutar el Arte)’ with ‘Arty Edition’. An initiative led by the firm Fama Sofás and the designer Jose Azorín, in which a collection of twelve exclusive upholsteries based on the reinterpretation of iconic works and avant-garde art can be seen in the San Francisco de Yecla Church.  This collection will complement that of Creacción, which will be on display throughout the festival in different urban enclaves. Please visit https://festivalcreaccion.com for more information about all the activities.

FMY closing ceremony, led by Remedios Lajara, Yecla’s mayoress and FMY’s Executive Committee president, will take place on the last day, setting an important step towards the FMY’s next in 2023.

This four-day full of personality event with a young soul will once again highlight the high quality and service of our exhibiting companies while serving as a meeting place. Something that characterises our exhibitor firms is how easy it is to set up personal relationships with customers who visit us. Besides, thanks to being close to the production centres of many of our exhibitor companies, it is possible to get first-hand knowledge of how the sector’s products are manufactured.
